Assistant Project Manager – LGA

Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) – LGA supports the successful delivery of right-of-way (ROW) and land acquisition projects from initiation through close-out. This role ensures that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with approved scope, standards, and organizational objectives.
Working under the direction of senior project managers, the APM provides coordination, progress monitoring, and stakeholder communication to facilitate the efficient and consistent delivery of complex ROW and acquisition initiatives.

Multiple opportunities for this position may be available through various client contracts. Depending on the requirements set forth by the clients, the employee may be imbedded within the client agency, working in a hybrid environment, or undertaking totally remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage the delivery of ROW projects, including property acquisition, land conveyance, documentation, and reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies, policies, procedures, systems, and tools to improve ROW project delivery.
  • Assist the Project Manager with daily operations, special assignments, and preparation of reports and updates.
  • Coordinate activities across internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to maintain clear communication and alignment.
  • Contribute to issue resolution and ensure compliance with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ROW acquisition, land conveyance, and reporting in complex infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Familiarity with real property management in design-build or similar environments.
  • Strong technical writing, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and team collaboration capabilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management or coordination experience in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Strong background in project and construction management with emphasis on real property.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
  • Experience with large capital infrastructure projects, including real property scope and strategy.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, resource planning, and management within innovative delivery models (e.g., design-build).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and coordination skills.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex ROW and acquisition challenges effectively.
