Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful delivery of projects for REJ Solutions clients by assisting with management activities during planning, design, and construction phases. The APM provides essential support in coordinating project teams, monitoring progress, managing deliverables, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
This role works closely with senior project managers, technical staff, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the clients’ strategic goals.
Multiple opportunities for this position may be available through various client contracts. Depending on the requirements set forth by the clients, the employee may be imbedded within the client agency, working in a hybrid environment, or undertaking totally remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and tracking deliverables.
- Support contract management by reviewing consultant and contractor submissions for accuracy and compliance.
- Facilitate coordination among multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure effective communication and alignment.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation in line with company procedures.
- Contribute to quality assurance by ensuring deliverables meet technical, contractual, and program requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, project support, or roles in infrastructure/capital projects.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and project management tools.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting rail, transit, or other transportation infrastructure projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6) and document management systems.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
