Position Summary
The Risk Specialist supports the enterprise and program-level risk management framework of clients. This role ensures that cost and schedule risk exposures are effectively identified, tracked, and mitigated. The specialist develops and maintains risk reporting tools, coordinates between program and project-level risks, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen overall risk oversight.
Multiple opportunities for this position may be available through various client contracts. Depending on the requirements set forth by the clients, the employee may be imbedded within the client agency, working in a hybrid environment, or undertaking totally remote work.
Position Responsibilities
- Assists in establishing and maintaining cost and schedule baselines to assess risk exposures
- Supports input required for external stakeholders, grant applications, and program reporting
- Develops and maintains risk reporting tools for cost and schedule risk analysis
- Manages risk registers, ensuring proper coordination between program level and project-level risks
- Maintains and updates risk management plans and reports
- Provides guidance and templates for project risk management, including qualitative risk registers and quantitative risk assessments
- Supports project teams in implementing risk management strategies and maintaining project risk contingency plans
- Reviews and challenges project-level risk assessments to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a relevant discipline
- 10+ years in related risk management roles
- Strong understanding of risk management processes and methodologies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications/ Certifications/ Licensures
- Experience working in large-scale programs or multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Knowledge of risk management practices in infrastructure or construction projects
